The National Bolivian Rally Championships. Two days non-stop travel to the Salar. My good friend Michael Murdoch had this trip planned for months. I met him at just the right time. And we drank, and ate pig, and drank, and became Bolivian for the four days we were there.

I spent a week looking out over this view. Three thousand, five hundred metres above sea level.

I spent two weeks learning spanish in Sucre, Bolivia. In that time I ate many lunch’s and dinner’s at the local mercado. Food in these places is extremely cheap. And so is the upkeep of the premises.

Beasts are brought in pre slaughtered, where the entirety of the carcass is used in some form of food. These horns fell out of a full bin, which had stray dogs in a determined frenzy. No one cared, no one bothered. It was amusement. Which brought about a smile.

I met Pedro Salles Iwersen by the side of a pool in Mendoza, Argentina. We drank red wine all night long and after several days of enjoying the fruits of the Argentinian wine capital, we passed over the Andes. We continued traveling north together for over a month and a half passing through Chile and into Bolivia. Still to this day one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. He loves a drink.

Thomas Robinson and Chris Proud. Organizing life. Between five of us, we were fueled by coffee and the constant cigarette break to bring together a group exhibition consisting of 165 photographs. Such an intense couple of days. It was Comb Galleries second show and my first. Such a beautiful thing to see the results of timeless work by eighteen of some of the most passionate photographers. Around this time last year, there was a massive movement of like minded people congregating around the east coast of Australia. A lot have moved on to bigger and better things, and I can’t see a time when we will be able to get together again.

The weekend is upon us and what a weekend it will be. POND played an amazing show last night, with MITZI to come in Byron Bay tonight. The weekend prospects couldn’t look so good. Enjoy the last weeks of beautiful, hot weather for me x
